Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Chaunté Vergnac — author, illustrator, life coach, and founder of Crowned in Brown.

I created this brand for my two daughters, Clarke-Lauren and Logan-Christina, because I wanted them to grow up surrounded by stories that reflect who they are — confident, capable, beautiful, and powerful. As a mother and a coach, I saw firsthand how early a child's sense of self begins to form, and how much that foundation shapes everything that comes after.

Crowned in Brown started with one question: What if children's books did more than entertain — what if they helped kids believe in themselves?

That question became The Power Within — a bedtime alphabet affirmation book that teaches identity and character instead of just letters. And it's only the beginning.

Our Mission

To help children — especially Black and Brown children — build confidence, self-love, identity, emotional intelligence, and leadership through books, educational tools, and empowering experiences.
